The Outer Banks Chorus announces the April/2015 retirement of its Director and is accepting applications for the position.
The OBX Chorus is a well-established community chorus celebrating its 27th year. We perform a wide range of styles and genres. We are a non-auditioned choir with approximately 60 members. Rehearsals are Tuesdays from 5:30-7:30 p.m. (September to April) at Kitty Hawk United Methodist Church in Kitty Hawk, North Carolina.
The Director will lead the chorus in weekly rehearsals, at least four concerts annually, and various community events. Experience in conducting a wide variety of music from Renaissance to Sacred to Broadway and more is expected. Understanding and effectively teaching vocal technique are essential.
